Favorite Memory transit panama canal.august 1967
Comments transferred 1 october 1967 to uss mullinnix dd944 at rodman, canal zone. Gyatt broke down there. we were there about35 days before relieved by mullinnix to continue unitas VIII cruise around south america. about 40 transferred to mullinnix.

Favorite Memory Watching the first Terrier to Launcher loading test at the shipyard after conversion to DDG-712. The wings of the bird sheared off after hitting the bottom of the missile house blast door (with the shipyard Admiral watching).

Comments Just wanted to tell everyone of a great book to read. "The Last Stand Of The Tin Can Sailors" by James D. Hornfischer. An excellent story of WWII destroyer warfare.
