Greetings Shipmates:

I know that you think we may have forgotten you but your host Mr. Albert H. Seybrecht and his associate (me) have run into countless bureaucratic problems (i.e. governmental okays). We have been working on a tour of the White House, which must be obtained thru you congressmen or senator, and we have found that we cannot be considered prior to six months prior to the requested visit date – so there you have it.

Anyway – I think we have it (the White House Tour) – thanks to Miss Shirley and her political connections. We will have official approval (we hope) by the middle of September. Our tour visits will start Thursday, the 11 th of October and continue again on Friday, the 12 th of October. If sufficient interest is shown and people are willing to pay their fair share of the bus charge we will rent a bus and go to Annapolis and/or Baltimore on the official registration day, 10 October 2007 – those desiring to make this trip will have to arrive Tuesday – registering a day early.

As you are aware our hotel accommodations have been secured for quite awhile. The hotel is the CROWNE PLAZA - DULLES AIRPORT, 2200 Centreville Road, Herndon, VA 20170; their telephone number is (703) 674-0452 and the room rate is $84.00 per night plus a nine (9%) percent tax, parking is free and there is room for R-Vs. This rate will be good for three days prior to the reunion start date (officially the 10 th day of October) and for three days following the reunion closing date (the morning of the 14 th of October). To g et this rate you must advise that you are with the USS GYATT Reunion Group. The hotel runs a shuttle to and from the Dulles Airport, which is located approximately two miles away. Our tour plans are as follows: Click here to read the full letter.
